I made this place so that the wiki-goers not on the FlipForum could enjoy the FlipForum without subjecting themselves to the torture of how damn toxic the FlipForum is. That's all it's for. If anyone starts behaving in a rude, mean or otherwise bullyish way, report it, because I WILL deal with it. Don't just stand by and let it happen. If anything gets out of hand, I will drop warnings and bans. I won't let anyone be hurt here, but I'd rather you not let anyone be hurt either. So help me in my anti-FlipForum crusade and help make this place better!
Just be yourself!
Don't copy anyone else's typing style or quirks. Type as you normally would and let your real self shine. There's no need to try and look popular or get laughs by piggybacking on someone else's typing quirks, especially if English isn't their second language.
Do not be excessively cruel.
Debate, playful trolling and arguments are allowed here, as well as critique, but you may not be overly abrasive. Try to remain civil. (I swear to Nithya, if anyone bullies another user off of this forum, I'm going to drop the banhammer.)
Do NOT post anything offensive or obscene.
What qualifies under this is sexual art, excessive nudity, racism, sexism, etc. Note that on touchy subjects, "offensiveness" is determined on an admin-by-admin basis. Blood/gore is fine, but if you believe you may make someone queasy with it, place it in a spoiler. Censor swears or you will be warned; "damn" and "hell" are okay, though.
If you know a user has a trigger or phobia, do not under ANY circumstances try to set it off.
If you accidentally set off their phobia, caused a flashback or anything similar, please apologize promptly. Intentional triggering is seen as a bannable offense.
NO SPAM, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
This includes making pointless or duplicate topics. To answer a question you may have: Double posting is FINE. As long as it's not blatantly obvious that you are spamming, you may post multiple times in a row. Spam is fine in moderation in the Abyss and in the shoutbox.
Don't worry about backseat modding- but let the mods do their job!
If someone notices someone else breaking a rule, it is fine to point it out alongside reporting it to administration. However, keep it in moderation. Excessive backseating will net you a warning.
Bumping/necroposting is okay- but don't do it too much.
If you wish to revive a thread, post in it. As long as you do not bump excessively and fill a page with bump messages, this is perfectly fine and you will not be reprimanded. Mass bumping is okay in The Abyss.
If it doesn't belong to you, ask or don't use it.
If an FC is owned by someone else, ask them if you can use that character in your fic, RP, etc. Doing so without asking is a bannable offense and a form of plagiarism. This is okay in The Abyss as long as credit is given.
Don't sass the mods.
Just don't do it. Especially not Silvie.
